We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for inspecting and testing raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality, dimensional, safety, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a production environment, and able to accurately document results while identifying and addressing non-conforming products or materials. Previous quality assurance or laboratory experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, inspect, and test raw materials, in-process products, and finished products.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Verify product dimensions and specifications using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Perform first-run sample inspections and routine/round checks on parts.
- Conduct specialized testing, including hydrostatic, pneumatic, hardness, and other applicable tests.
- Identify, document, and properly handle non-conforming products or materials.
- Record inspection and testing results accurately using electronic systems and Microsoft Office programs.
- Receive and process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
- Inspect incoming materials and parts at receiving.
- Monitor production processes and communicate quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare and document laboratory or quality test results.
- Maintain laboratory and inspection equipment and ensure equipment is kept clean and properly functioning.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot quality issues, problem-solve, and communicate findings effectively.
- Perform additional quality-related duties as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous Quality Assurance or laboratory experience is strongly preferred.
- Must be highly detail-oriented, organized, and dependable.
- Basic math skills with the ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and product specifications is preferred.
- Ability to learn and accurately use precision measuring instruments.
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Must be able to arrive to work on time and maintain reliable attendance.
- Must be flexible and willing to work extended shifts and some Saturdays as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and manipulate parts and equipment.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.
- Must have sufficient close vision to inspect dimensional accuracy and surface defects.
- Must have sufficient depth perception to evaluate different configurations of parts.
